Dr Ishrat Hussain - Chairman
Profession: Vice Chancellor, IBA, Karachi      
Dr Ishrat Hussain was the 13th Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan and is currently the Chairman of the National Commission for Government Reform.  Prior to this Dr Hussain was the Director of the Central Asian Republics at the World bank and during this period he spearheaded many developments in the microfinance industry through World Bank initiatives in Central Asia.  Dr Hussain was elemental in introducing the Microfinance Ordinance and in promoting the microfinance sector in Pakistan. He has extensive publications to his name.
                                                                       
Mr S M Zafar - President Emeritus
Profession:   Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan
Mr Zafar has been involved in many important constitutional cases and is currently considered to be one of the most respected and esteemed Constitutional Lawyers in Pakistan.  He has also represented the country in a number of international foras including the United Nations and has also held public office as the Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.  He is a renowned jurist and has also written a number of books on history, politics and jurisprudence. Mr Zafar’s interests are highly diverse: he is the Chairman of the Human Rights Society of Pakistan, the trustee of the Hamdard University, the Chairman of the Cultural Association of Pakistan, to name a few. He currently holds a seat in the Pakistan Senate.
 
Ms Mahbina Waheed - Director
Profession: Private Business
Ms Waheed is a graduate of Smith College USA and holds a degree in Economics and Government.  Ms Waheed is currently running her own business and has started producing ovenware (ceramics).  She was one of the original thinkers and supporters of the Foundation and has also worked as the Training and Monitoring Manager at Kashf from 1996-98.
 
Dr Attiya Inayatullah - Director
Profession: President, International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and the Chairperson, Family Planning Association of Pakistan
Dr Inayatullah has renowned for her contributions to women’s reproductive health in Pakistan.  She has been heading the Family Planning Association of Pakistan over the past 20 years and currently the FPAP is the largest NGO in the country.  She has made many contributions through her active involvement in international agencies like the United Nations and the IPPF.  She has actively influenced policies regarding women in Pakistan and has been both a Federal Minister (Population) in the past and is currently a serving member on the National Security council of the Government of Pakistan.
                                       
Ms Rabia Khan - Director
Profession: Gender Specialist
Ms Khan is a lawyer by profession and also holds a Masters Degree in Policy and Management from the Carnegie Mellon University, USA.  She has worked in the field of gender and development for many years with the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and has also worked with the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) on sustainable development.  Currently, Ms Khan works as a freelance consultant and is based in Karachi.
 
Mr Syed Asim Zafar - Director
Profession: Stock Market
Mr  Zafar is the chairman of the Lahore Stock Exchange and a member of the board of Directors of the Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE), Zafar Securities, National Commodity Exchange and World Call Multi Media. Mr Zafar has been pivotal in professionalizing and improving the performance of the LSE in his three terms as its Chair. Mr Zafar holds a degree in Nuclear Engineering from Purdue University, USA.
 
Mr Ahmed Bilal Mahboob - Director
Profession: Engineer
Mr Ahmed Bilal is an engineer by profession and has worked in foreign countries for a number of years, Currently, he is heading PILDAT and has been working to support democratic infrastructure in Pakistan. He is also involved in creating a positive image of Pakistan abroad and has also been involved in setting up schools in Pakistan.
 
Mr Tajammal Hussain - Director
Profession:  Chartered Accountant
Mr Hussain is a certified Chartered Accountant with extensive experience and in depth knowledge of business processes in a wide range of sectors including information technology, manufacturing, financial services, education and charities. Mr Hussain is a partner of his own Accounting firm, Fakhruddin Yousafali and Company since 1991.  He is a graduate of Cambridge University, London School of Economics and has received his Chartered Accountancy qualification from Arther Anderson & Company, London.
 
Ms Manizeh Bano - Director
Profession:  Special Education and Adult Literacy
Ms Bano has extremely extensive and diverse experience in the non-profit sector.  She was the Executive Director of ABSA , which is a school for children with hearing and speech disabilities for over 20 years.  Ms Bano also holds a Master’s degree in teaching, with a special focus on adult education, special education and child psychology from Norway.  Ms Bano has also taught at the Punjab University as a guest lecturer and has undertaken teacher’s trainings for both government and non-government organisations. She is currently the Executive Director of Sahil, which is an NGO based in Islamabad and is working on raising awareness on Child Sexual Abuse.
 
Ms Sadia Khan - Director
Profession: Economist/Policy
Ms Khan Is a financial analyst with extremely disparate and wide ranging experience. She was the Head of the Strategic Planning Department of the State Bank of Pakistan and has also worked with the Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and the Asian Development Bank.  Ms Khan has a degree in business management from INSEAD, France and a degree of Economics from Yale University, USA and Cambridge University, UK.
 
Ms Roshaneh Zafar - Director
Profession: Development Economist/Microfinance
Ms Zafar is a graduate of the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania, USA and also holds a Masters degree in Development Economics from Yale University, USA.  She has worked with the World Bank as a women-in-development research associate on the water and sanitation sectors.  Ms Zafar founded Kashf Foundation in 1996 after a chance meeting with Professor Yunus.  She has diverse skills in financial management, participatory appraisal techniques, gender and other related fields.  She is also involved with other civil society organisations like Sahil (which is working against child sexual abuse), Sungi Development Foundation and the Family Planning Association of Pakistan.
