Over the past years, the Kashf team has grown from 5 staff members to a team of over 1000 dedicated and committed staff, who are continuously striving to build a better future for our clients. Our management team comprises:
Founder and President, Ms Roshaneh Zafar
Ms. Zafar founded the Kashf Foundation – the first specialized microfinance organization in Pakistan – in 1996 after a chance meeting with Professor Muhammd Yunus of the Grameen Bank. Prior to this she worked with the World Bank in Islamabad in the Water and Sanitation department for several years. Ms. Zafar was one of the first Ashoka Fellows in Pakistan and has been a Schwab Foundation Social Entrepreneur since 2004. Ms Zafar has also been awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, one of Pakistan’s highest civilian awards, by the President of Pakistan for her work in the field of development and women’s empowerment and was also awarded the Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship in 2007. Ms Zafar is a graduate of the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania, USA and also holds a Masters degree in Development Economics from Yale University, USA.
Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Faisal Malik
Mr. Malik brings a unique combination of Technology and Management Consultancy. Prior to joining Kashf in 2003 he spent his professional career with Ernst & Young and Sprint where he specialized in project management and advisory services. He has been elemental in taking forward the automation drive within Kashf’s branch network. He introduced the vision of ‘Delight the Customer’ within the organization and the prime architect of Kashf’s software the “Miracle Worker.”
Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Kamran Azim
Mr. Azim has joined the organization after working with the private sector for several years. He is a Chartered Accountant by profession and has worked with KPMG (an audit firm) and Total Parco Pakistan (an Oil Marketing Company). He brings a strong financial and market based vision to the management team.
Chief Internal Auditor, Mr. Ghulam Haider Chaudary
Mr. Chaudary has over 20 years of auditing experience in the private sector and has worked for a major part of that in the education sector. Mr. Chaudary joined the Kashf team in 2006 to lead the design and implementation of Kashf’s internal audit processes along with establishing a strong culture to ensure high policy compliance and high standards of transparency at all times.
Head of Finance and Accounts, Mr. Shahzad Iqbal
Mr. Iqbal has been working as Head of Finance & Accounts at Kashf Foundation for the past 4 years where he overlooks the accounts and finance function, he is responsible for all financial reporting, ensuring effective controls for design and increasing effectiveness at all levels of all transaction cycles. He is also responsible for ensuring and enhancing transparency of financial reporting through external, internal, statutory and other audits. He deals with external financial stakeholders, arranges and forecasts funds required, and is involved in all key decision making processes of the company. Mr. Iqbal joined Kashf after working 7 years in the corporate sector. He is a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) and has worked with KPMG, an audit firm and Worldcall a leading telecom and broadband company in Pakistan. |
